New Location Gives OSMC East more room to Stretch Out MIDDLEBURY — OSMC, Michiana's leading musculoskeletal resource, opened the doors for OSMC East. The new office, which represents expanded services for the Middlebury community, is located at 54938 Ind. 13. The new 10,000-square-foot facility will provide physical and hand therapy, along with physician care, sports medicine care and pain management. This is also the first full-service occupational health care facility for the Middlebury area. OSMC East will be open daily from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The facility will have 15 to 20 employees. To better acquaint Middlebury residents with OSMC services, each of its seven divisions will have a display at the open house, outlining the different specialties. The seven divisions are Hand Institute, Center for Sports Medicine, Knee & Hip Center, Back & Spine Center, Foot & Ankle Center, Work Injury Care Center and Pain Management Center. OSMC East will have eight examination rooms, as well as an area devoted to physical and occupational therapy. This area will have a full range of exercise equipment, allowing Middlebury residents to receive needed therapy in their own community. OSMC East also will have X-ray equipment that is hooked into the medical practice's central computer system. This system allows physicians at OSMC East to take a patient's X-ray and then consult with colleagues in Elkhart instantly about the patient's diagnosis or treatment. Physicians providing regular orthopedic services at OSMC East are Robert K. Ellis, M.D.; Leonard Kibiloski, M.D.; Craig W. Erekson, M.D.; Gene W. Grove, M.D.; and Jason J. Hix, M.D. Grove will provide pain management services, and Hix will provide sports medicine orthopedic care. Dawn Berger, M.D., will provide full service occupational medicine. "We are also very pleased to offer our sports medicine specialists to this area. As we do in Elkhart, we will provide physicals to athletes at Northridge High School," said Mark A. Klaassen, M.D. and president of OSMC. "From pain management to treating a damaged joint, we want people in the Middlebury area to know they have a good resource in OSMC East for their muscle, bone and joint conditions," said Klaassen. OSMC is the area’s leading center for comprehensive musculosketal diagnosis, surgery and therapy care.
