PRP Therapy

OSMC PRP Therapy

Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) therapy is a minimally invasive treatment that uses components of your own blood to support the body’s natural healing response.

A small sample of blood is drawn and processed to concentrate platelets and other blood components. The resulting PRP is then injected into the targeted area.

PRP may be considered for certain joint, tendon, and sports-related conditions.

PRP May Be Considered For

  • Mild to moderate arthritis
  • Knee pain
  • Tendon injuries and chronic tendon conditions
  • Shoulder pain
  • Tennis elbow and other elbow conditions
  • Sports and overuse injuries
  • Joint pain and inflammation

What to Expect

A typical PRP appointment takes approximately 45–60 minutes.

  • A small amount of blood is drawn from your arm.
  • The blood is processed to concentrate the platelets.
  • The PRP is prepared for injection.
  • Your provider injects the PRP into the targeted treatment area.
  • Mild soreness may occur for several days following treatment.

PRP is designed to support a gradual healing process rather than provide an immediate fix. Some patients begin noticing improvement over several weeks, while results vary depending on the condition and individual patient.
