FAQS

Do All Visitors Require Surgery?

If it is a strain or a sprain, no. If it is a fracture, there is a greater chance of the need for surgery. Many conditions respond favorably to non-surgical treatments and require just time, observation, or a guided course of physical therapy.

Do I Need X-Rays or an MRI?

X-rays can identify joint abnormalities and are typically the initial step before more advanced imaging is needed. X-rays provide valuable information for determining a treatment approach. Radiographs are used to evaluate bone quality and alignment, and the doctor can also evaluate if the joint space has shrunk, which might be an indication of arthritis.

MRI, or Magnetic Resonance Imaging, might assist in identifying the root cause of your joint discomfort. X-rays are incapable of revealing the architecture of soft tissue, whereas an MRI can reveal them.

After evaluating your x-rays and doing a clinical examination, the physician will schedule an MRI if further information is required to decide your treatment strategy. MRIs are not usually required before surgery.

How Much Does it Cost for Orthopedic Care or Surgery?

It depends on your insurance plan. We accept several insurance and payment options for appointments, including cash, checks, and credit cards.

Please keep in mind that your copayment, coinsurance, and out-of-pocket costs are required at the time of service. If you do not have health insurance, please be prepared to pay a minimum of $125 for this office visit.

For orthopedic operations, our Surgery Coordinator will generate a pre-surgery estimate, which will include deposit requirements due three days prior to surgery.
