OSMC is in search of a PTA to provide dynamic, one-on-one musculoskeletal therapy under the supervision of experienced physical therapists in a busy outpatient orthopedic physical therapy practice. Applicants should be reliable, a team player, possess strong communicative interpersonal skills while displaying professionalism and empathy during patient care. In addition, they must be a graduate of an accredited PTA program and licensed or eligible for licensure as a physical therapy assistant in Indiana. Outpatient orthopedic experience is a plus, but new graduates with special interest in outpatient ortho will be considered.
Monday through Friday, 40 hours/week with work hours varying depending on office location. Candidates must be patient service oriented with a pleasant personality. Travel to other offices (Middlebury, Nappanee, Elkhart, and Goshen) and prior clinical medical assisting experience is required.
Acts as an interpreter for Spanish speaking patients. Coordinates external language services and hearing-impaired services to patients. Translates English written documents into Spanish as needed. Must be able to communicate (verbally and in writing) efficiently in Spanish and English. This is a temporary position expected to last approximately 3 months.
Responsibilities include handling all insurance accounts – processing claims, following up on claims and refiling/appealing when needed. In addition, this position also figures pre-payments on surgeries and MRI’s. Prior experience in medical office billing preferred.
Responsible for processing/filing claims, entering charges, claim follow-up, refiling/appealing when needed, taking payments and setting up payment arrangements with patients of our Ambulatory Surgery Center. Previous experience preferred.
The ideal candidate will assist with installation, configuration, updating, maintenance and support of workstations, peripheral devices, printing/scanning devices, presentation equipment, software, mobile devices, and LAN related problems either desk side or using remote support tools for a multi-site organization. Travel between facilities is required. Must have some combination of training and experience in PC technical support, OR 1-2 years of experience as a PC technician. Experience in Health IT a plus.
Prepares patients for radiology procedures. Takes x-rays following established procedures for patient care and safety. Uses a variety of radiation protection and shielding materials. Ensures equipment is in working order. Reports equipment malfunctions to supervisor. Logs radiology procedures completed. Processes related paperwork using computer equipment as directed. .Maintains examination rooms. Stocks necessary medical and radiology supplies Required to perform some MA duties including but not limited to, rooming patients and autoclave instruments and maintenance.
Greets callers in a prompt, courteous and helpful manner. Screens callers, responds to routine requests for information, service, and/or directs callers to appropriate staff. Sends communication requests to the clinical staff by completing appropriate intake templates.
Provides skilled assistance to the surgeon in the hospital and ASC Operating Rooms. Successfully works with the OR staff to facilitate turnover of surgery rooms to maximize the efficiency of the surgical team. Will also see patients in the office setting. Requires a master’s degree in Nursing, must be licensed in the State of Indiana. Previous experience in surgical setting required.
